Heath kirkwood
lead pastor
Heath joined our staff in August 2016 as Lead Pastor after serving in worship and student ministry in local churches. He earned a Bachelors and Masters of Music from the Moores School of Music as well as a Master of Divinity from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary; he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree. Gospel music has been a significant part of his life, leading him to involvement in summer singing schools. Heath is the baritone vocalist for the Texas-based quartet, Gospel Express, and is an avid baseball fan and KC Royals enthusiast. One of his desires for Lorena is to see the community and churches drawn together by sowing seeds of love in Jesus's name. Heath and his wife Amanda are the proud parents of Norah and Riley, and Lorena is their home.

associate pastor
Donnie began serving as Associate Pastor in November 2021, and his primary roles of responsibility are overseeing administration and discipleship. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1979, and has completed degrees at Jacksonville College, Lamar University, and the University of Texas at Tyler; he is also pursuing his Doctor of Pastoral Leadership at Andersonville Seminary. Over the years in ministry, he has served with children, students, worship, pastoral, and administration ministries in several churches in Texas. He and his wife Sheryl love to spread joy, develop friendships, and walk through life while encouraging others to live for Christ. The Pages have two grown sons and seven grandchildren, whom they spoil very well, and they live in nearby Woodway.

RACHEL TATE YATTOR
KIDS MINISTER
Rachel loves the Lord and his church, and joined our staff as Kids Minister in June 2022. She trusted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl and hopes to inspire faith in Christ in every child she meets. Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Baylor University in 2012 and graduated with her Masters of Divinity from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary in 2016, and then married Hezekiah (Hezi) later that year. Rachel and Hezi lived in Kenya, East Africa, where Rachel served as a chaplain in a children’s home, as Minister of Spiritual Formation in an urban church, and taught Christian discipleship to women in prison. In 2020, Rachel and Hezi moved to Texas, where Rachel led the youth ministry and served in all aspects of church life in a small church. Rachel cheers loudly for the Baylor Bears. She enjoys creating Spotify playlists, hugging dogs, and walking trails with friends. She and Hezi make their home in Temple. -
Brian Curtis
music MINISTER
Having served as a Worship Leader, Youth Pastor, and Associate Pastor for nearly three decades in a variety of churches, Brian joined FBC Lorena as our Music Minister in December 2022. Music has played a large role in his life, especially in churches. Brian accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age, and surrendered to ministry as a student. He enjoys working with ministry partners through the world, and currently helps support groups and orphanages in the UK and Romania. Brian is also an owner and Senior V.P. of a company he started in the Waco area that has employees and clients across the world. He has a passion for the intersection of old and new music, the pastoral dimensions of leading worship, and leading people into the adventurous story Jesus has designed for them. Brian and his wife Lyndsey have four kids and call Waco their home.

student minister
Logan came as our Student Minister in September 2021. He is a native of South Dakota, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology & Youth Ministry and Psychology from the University of Sioux Falls. Logan also served as a small group leader, camp counselor, and youth ministry intern while pursuing his undergrad degree. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Logan's story, one of grief and deliverance, has formed within him a desire to walk alongside others in both joy and suffering to see God's redemptive hand at work. He is an avid hobbyist and enjoys many sports and outdoor activities. Logan and his wife, Kirsten, live in the heart of Waco.

Beth Austin
ministerial & financial assistant
Beth has been a member of FBC Lorena for over 20 years, and in January 2021 became part of our staff as Ministerial & Financial Assistant, with over 40 years of administrative and financial service in the Waco area. She and her husband, Kevin, have been residents of Lorena since 1980. Her sons, Skyler and Shane, both Lorena graduates, are married and living in Richmond and Hewitt, respectively. Beth enjoys participating in several ministries of the church and visiting with members of the church and Lorena community. Her greatest joy is her 4 grandchildren: Emmy, Charlotte, Tony and Zoe.
